...where I've been, I've fallen down the rabbit hole that is also known as flickr. First it was forums, then mypace, ravelry, facebook, etc. You know how it is. Taking pictures is the new blogging. I have dived into becoming a better photographer and love looking at all the other amazing pictures out there. It's inspiring.
I had a great day yesterday. A day of laughter and excited voices all sharing stories. Hugs and hot dogs. It was marvelous. It was like one of those days at a theme park, where you didn't want it to end, and you go to sleep at night tired, but with a smile.
Marty and I had a BBQ with some of my friends from high school. I hadn't seen many of them in years and I loved how we all fell into the familiar cushion of friendship and comfort. All of us are a little different but in so many ways the same. New babies, new marriages, new lives, but still the same smiles, and gestures.
Of the girls, in high school we were pretty much inseparable. We all learned to drive together, to flirt, and laugh so hard it hurt. I don't have many memories of high school without at least one of them. I remember going from prom to Dennys and then to the marina to spend the night in a sail boat. Just the girls. Us and a whole bunch of candy, as I recall. The smell of red vines and the ocean is in my memory. We talked about boys and life after high school. I think at the time I wanted to be a movie star, one of us a preschool teacher, another a therapist? Something like that. Then we talked about boys again, cause you know...priorities.
